Saburo Shimada is a Japanese painter and lithographer born in 1943 who lives and works in France.

Influenced by Oguiss but without reproducing the expressionist touch, he painted Parisian landscapes as well as Norman ports in a balanced and serene style. One feels an artist eager to confer harmony and sweetness to his subjects.

He also likes to paint nature and trees according to the different seasons, in compositions where the pictorial treatment by compact colored masses contrasts with the attention to detail of his other art works.
